It’s easy to fall into the chasm you didn’t know was there - Louisa Williamson

APRA Award-winning composer and saxophonist Louisa Williamson returns to the Wellington Jazz Festival with fresh new music that challenges the boundaries of genre and society.

Regarded as one of Aotearoa’s most exciting jazz artists, her music has been described as "both peaceful and full of surprise…imaginative and daring” (APRA Judges on “Dream within a Dream”). Williamson is no stranger to the Pōneke and Aotearoa music scene and has recorded and performed with some of the biggest names in New Zealand music including L.A.B., Trinity Roots, Dawn Diver and AJA.

The Chasm Where We Fall Into Each Other explores the concept of division both literally and figuratively. Blending avant-garde jazz, classical, electronic, rap, and hip hop, this work delves into the divides that exist within society and our natural world.

Live at San Fran, join Williamson and her stellar band and be the first to hear this groundbreaking composition.
