Piano Trio and Flute in a lyrical vein.

Artist, composer and pianist Ian Logan will bring Jazz, Blues and Celtic-tinged ballads in a more contemplative mode to the amazing space that is the Chapel of our Lady of Compassion. Standards and originals feature with the participation of some special musical friends including Andrea Wilson on flute and Deme Blades on Bass. He is also pleased to introduce the young drummer James Punter to a jazz festival audience.

This evocative venue, surrounded by the stained glass of John Drawbridge and with a sweet-toned Yamaha upright, is the perfect venue for Ian Logan's brand of pianism – intent on extracting the maximum of tone colour from the acoustic piano genre. Andrea Wilson is a versatile musician with Latin American, Jazz and classical experience whilst Deme Blades comes from a rock/blues background and enjoys exploring other genres too.

Logan was fascinated to discover that in her twenties Mother Suzanne Aubert (her resting place is beside the chapel) took lessons from the legendary pianist Franz Liszt who, especially later in his life, explored close connections between musical inspiration and faith.

All proceeds will go to the ongoing work of the Compassion Soup Kitchen and a generous Koha will be deeply appreciated.
