Family Music Album Release

Celebrate the release of Umar Zakaria's second album, Family Music.

Umar’s first album, Fearless Music, won the 2018 Tui Award for Best Jazz Artist and was dedicated to the importance of challenging oneself and overcoming fears to become a better person. His second album, Family Music, is dedicated to the bonds of love, support, acceptance, belief, and safety that allow great music-making to be possible in the first place.

Umar owes much of what he has learnt about Family Music to the musicians of Wellington and the city of Wellington, so he is dedicating this album and this performance to them as a form of his sincere thanks.
